Nowhere
intro
Nowhere is a Flash game that tells the story of a protagonist who wakes up in a shattered world and tries to save it from a cycle of destruction. In the past, using Flash to create websites and animations was very common, and Flash games were the most popular form of mini-games at the time. In this project, I started from scratch to learn how to use AS3.0 to write a simple game engine and hoped to explore the possibilities of immersive storytelling.

Process
The purpose of this project is to explore how to guide players into a state of flow and how to use games for immersive storytelling under constrained conditions. Many symbols and settings in the plot can be interpreted in various ways, leaving the interpretation space to the players. The game minimizes all UI and unnecessary instructions. There is no concept of death in the game, and players are not punished for operational mistakes, which greatly prevents players from quitting the flow state due to the game being too difficult.
